Well Blended Call for Artists

WHEN?    October 4 – 19, 2019

WHERE?  UNT on the Square

109 North Elm Street, Denton, Texas 76201

Anyone who resides in the Denton County area as well as UNT and TWU students.

Coffee is the conceptual/inspirational starting point for this exhibition.

Therefore, all work should speak to the notion of blending – the ability of two or

more mediums, components, subjects, or ideas to come together and form

something greater than the sum of its parts.

The art exhibition will be in conjunction with an October 6th public reception as

well as a concert presented by Lumedia Musicworks as they  perform musical

selections from their Well-Blended Coffee Concert. Experience the music written

about coffee when coffee was making its big debut in 17th century Europe. The

performance will include a small orchestra and several vocalists.

All media is welcome. 2D, 3D, crafts. This includes, but is not limited to:

painting, drawing, prints, photography, sculpture, ceramics, woodworking,

stained glass, fiber, jewelry, mixed media.

If you have questions about your medium please contact Randall M. Good at the

email address or phone number at the bottom of this page.

Mark Holderbaum is the juror for Well Blended. Mark is a perfect choice for this

year’s theme of ‘blending’ as he is an artist who makes beautiful and functional

furnishings and art work out of a number of different materials. While wood and

steel may be his primary mediums he masterfully merges other materials like

stone, paint, and even found objects into unique creations.

Mark is also the owner of Cave Furnishings, located just off the Historic Denton

Square. He is a true patron and supporter of the arts in Denton and exhibits local

artists and craftspeople alongside the eclectic pieces he has assembled from around

the globe.
